What is the seat woven from?

All weather plastic rope, hand woven across the frame. The manufacturer makes a point of it, saying this set varies from PE wicker. Rope is round in section where wicker is flat.

Is there anything I should know before building it?

Yes, and it comes from the maker: do not tighten all the screws until all the holes are aligned. That is printed on its own dimension panel and it is the single most useful piece of flat pack advice there is.

What care does the acacia need?

Acacia left bare outdoors weathers to a silver grey. A coat of outdoor oil once or twice a season keeps the honey colour in the photographs. Keep the runners out of standing water either way.
